Proposed Amendments to Administrative Rule for
Accessory Short-Term Rental Enforcement

The Bureau of Development Services is proposing to amend administrative rules related to enforcement of Accessory Short-Term Rentals (ASTRs) that are allowed by the Portland Zoning Code Chapter 33.207. The proposed amendments:

  • clarify that the fine amount for the first violation may be set by the BDS fee schedule adopted annually by City Council, consistent with the fines for second and third offenses; and
  • clarify that the administrative rule applies to both Type A and Type B ASTRs.

No public hearing will be held unless one is requested.

Written comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019.
