April 19, 2018 DRAC meeting
Attendees recognized departing DRAC members Kirk Olsen and Joe Schneider (representing Large Developers and Large Construction Contractors, respectively) for their years of service to the DRAC and the City. DRAC member Martha Williamson was appointed as the DRAC representative on the City’s Public Works Appeal Panel.
Much of the rest of the meeting was spent reviewing and discussing fee proposals from the development bureaus (BDS, Environmental Services, Parks, Transportation, Urban Forestry, and Water) for FY 2018-19. The DRAC also gave feedback to staff on the Residential Infill Project and a Transportation Demand Management discussion draft.
May 17, 2018 DRAC meeting
The DRAC welcomed three new members, just appointed by City Council:
- Paul Delsman (Bremik Construction), representing Large Construction Contractors
- Holly Huntley (Environs LLC), representing Frequent Development Review Customers
- Lauren Jones (Capstone Partners), representing Large Developers
A fourth new member, Shea Flaherty Betin (Portland Mercado), representing Small Businesses, was appointed by the Council and will be joining the DRAC in June.
DRAC members approved a letter to the Planning & Sustainability Commission regarding the Residential Infill Project, and discussed writing a letter to City Council regarding fee increases. The DRAC also created a subcommittee to work on a letter regarding the Design Overlay Zone Amendments (DOZA) project.
June DRAC meeting CANCELED
The DRAC meeting scheduled for June 21, 2018 has been canceled. The next DRAC meeting will be on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 8:00 a.m.

BDS is currently accepting applications for DRAC membership for two positions, representing:
- Minority Construction Contractors & Development Professionals
- Citywide Neighborhood Interests

DRAC Happenings highlights the activities of the City’s Development Review Advisory Committee (DRAC). The DRAC is the City’s primary advisory body regarding development review. The DRAC’s members represent groups with interests in the outcome of policies, budgets, regulations, and procedures that affect development review processes.
The purpose of the DRAC is to foster a timely, predictable and accountable development review process that implements the City's goals for land use, transportation, housing, economic development, neighborhood livability and the environment. The DRAC advocates for and supports consistent and fair application and implementation of regulations.
