Proposed Administrative Rules for Residential Demolitions
You may have seen that Portland City Council passed an ordinance in February 2018 to address asbestos and lead-based paint in residential demolitions. While the ordinance took effect immediately, the implementation will happen July 1.
BDS is releasing proposed administrative rules related to this implementation. Specifically, the proposed administrative rules will provide implementation guidance on:
- Portland City Code (PCC) Chapter 24.55 (Building Demolition), particularly provisions related to residential demolitions.
- Dust and site control measures for demolition projects with 1-4 dwelling units.
You can read the proposed administrative rule online. If you wish to comment on the proposed administrative rule, we encourage you to submit written comments before 9 a.m. on June 19 to Nancy Thorington at firstname.lastname@example.org.
