Do You Know How Code Updates to Implement the
2035 Comprehensive Plan May Affect You?

2035 Comprehensive Plan

Portland’s new 2035 Comprehensive Plan will take effect on May 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. It’s a long-range plan that helps the City prepare for and manage expected population and employment growth, as well as plan for and coordinate major public investments.

Staff at various City bureaus have been working on projects to implement the Comprehensive Plan. These early implementation projects include significant updates to the Zoning Map and Portland Zoning Code, which create entirely new base zones and change development standards in Portland.

Learn about the magnitude of changes as well as other upcoming projects that implement the Comprehensive Plan in the 2035 Comprehensive Plan area. We hope that this information can help customers and community members with developing project schedules, participating in public involvement activities and learning about upcoming regulatory changes.

The website includes a video presentation talking about the big picture of changes to the zoning code, as well as summaries of the various upcoming and recent projects that affect other codes. It also includes new and updated forms that will be in effect on May 24, 2018.

We’re here to help you. If you have any questions, please contact the Planning and Zoning department.
