December 13, 2018 DRAC Meeting

Highlights from the December DRAC meeting include:

  • A detailed update on BDS’s financial status and steps the bureau is taking in light of the slowdown in development and permit revenues;
  • A presentation on search functions in Portland Maps;
  • Discussion regarding BDS’s implementation of Review Windows for process-managed permits and the implications for permit timelines;
  • Discussion regarding the upcoming implementation of electronic plan review (PDX ePlans).

Next DRAC Meeting

The next DRAC meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 17, 2019.  DRAC members will review BDS’s budget request for FY 2019-20 and will be electing officers (Chair and Vice Chair) for 2019.

DRAC Member Vacancies

Two DRAC positions are currently vacant, representing:

  • Minority Construction Contractors & Development Professionals
  • Citywide Neighborhood Interests

An additional position representing Historic Preservation will become vacant at the end of January 2019. Applications for DRAC membership are welcome at any time. If you are interested in applying or have questions regarding DRAC membership, please contact Mark Fetters (503-823-1028).

For more information about DRAC, including meeting agendas, minutes, and handouts, please visit the DRAC area. The DRAC meets the third Thursday of each month from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. in Room 2500 B (2nd floor) of the 1900 Building. DRAC meetings are open to the public.

DRAC Happenings highlights the activities of the City’s Development Review Advisory Committee (DRAC). The DRAC is the City’s primary advisory body regarding development review. The DRAC’s members represent groups with interests in the outcome of policies, budgets, regulations, and procedures that affect development review processes.

The purpose of the DRAC is to foster a timely, predictable and accountable development review process that implements the City's goals for land use, transportation, housing, economic development, neighborhood livability and the environment. The DRAC advocates for and supports consistent and fair application and implementation of regulations.
