Most City offices closed Wednesday, June 19, to observe Juneteenth

The City of Portland recognizes Juneteenth as a formal day of remembrance to honor Black American history and the end of slavery in the United States. Learn about Juneteenth.

Donate reusable construction materials (Program Suspended)

This photo illustrates various types of reclaimed building materials, including windows, doors, wood beams and bricks.
(PROGRAM SUSPENDED) You may have leftover and reusable materials from your construction project. These materials may benefit property owners in our community.

The City of Portland works with the ReBuilding Center to make it easy to donate reusable building materials. Low-income homeowners and business owners can receive materials for free to help make their properties safe. Donating building materials also helps keep waste out of landfills.

How the program works

  • Anyone working on deconstruction or remodeling projects can donate new and reusable building materials to the ReBuilding Center. Please check the ReBuilding Center’s website for information about the types of materials it accepts.
  • If you are a property owner with a compliance case, you may qualify to receive free materials. Materials are subject to availability. Please visit this page to learn more.
