Proposal is for a new PSU School of Art & Design building located on a full block in the Central City Plan District. It consists of 100,000 GSF ofclassrooms, studios, offices, galleries and supporting spaces. At the ground level, the proposal includes art and design galleries on Broadway Avenue facing east, a front porch on the “Green Loop” on College Street facing north, a courtyard for events and display on Park Avenue facing west, and visual links to the Native American Student and Community Center on Jackson Street facing south. Loading and service spaces are also located on Jackson mid-block. Additional reviews include:

One Modification:

  1. Required Building Lines (33.510.215.B.1) – To increase the maximum allowed setbacks on SW Jackson St., from 12' maximum setback for 75% block, to 17' setback for 51% of block.

Two Adjustments:

  1. Parking and Loading Access (33.510.263.B.2.a.(1)) To allow loading off SW Jackson St., which is considered a Major City Bikeway.
  2. Number and Size of Loading Spaces (33.266.310- both C.2 and D) To provide one Modified A loading space rather than the required two standard-A spaces.

EA 23-079188 DA – Doernbecher Children's Hospital Addition

Proposal for an approximately 180,000-sf new building to serve as an addition to the existing Doernbecher Children's Hospital (DCH) at OHSU, located in the Marquam Hill Plan District. The site includes all the OHSU ownership. The development area for this proposal is directly west of the existing DCH building and is also bound by SW US Veterans Hospital Road to the south, SW Lower Campus Drive to the north (a private street), and an easement to the west. This new building will include Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Antepartum rooms, and will connect to the existing hospital at levels 3 and 8 (via a bridge connection).   No modifications or adjustments are currently anticipated.
