Clearing the browser cache and/or cookies varies slightly by browser.
Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge is the City of Portland's preferred browser. Follow the steps below to clear your browsing data in Microsoft Edge.
- At the top right, select Settings and more.
- Select Settings.
- From the left side panel, select Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
A pop-up window displays. - In the Time range drop-down menu, select All time.
Leave the default selected data types: Browsing history, Download history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files. - Select Clear browsing data for Internet Explorer mode.
- Select Clear now.
The pop-up closes and the selected items are cleared from the browser history.
Google Chrome
Follow the steps below to clear the browsing data in Google Chrome.
- At the top right, select the three dots to the right of your profile picture (Customize and control Google Chrome).
- Select More tools.
- Select Clear browsing data.
- In the Time range drop-down menu, select All time.
Leave the default selected data types: Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, and Cached images and files. - Click Clear data.
The pop-up closes and the selected items are cleared from the browser history
Mozilla Firefox
Follow the steps below to clear the browsing data in Mozilla Firefox.
- At the top right, select the icon that looks like four books (View history, save bookmarks, and more).
- Select History.
- Select Clear Recent History…..
A pop-up window displays. - In the Time range drop-down menu, select Everything.
- In the History section, deselect Active Logins but leave Browsing & Download History, Cookies, and Cache.
- Select OK.
The pop-up closes and the selected items are cleared from the browser history.
