The City of Portland Auditor’s Office seeks two summer interns interested in Portland’s new electoral system. This office promotes open and accountable government by providing impartial reviews and investigations, access to public information, and services for City government and the public.

Two interns will join four staff in the City Elections Office and will work closely with the City’s Charter Transition team. The primary duties of the summer interns are to help educate Portland voters about their new voting districts, using ranked-choice voting, and understanding the new roles of mayor and council prior to the November 2024 election.
The Elections Office is within the Auditor’s Office. The Auditor’s Office exists to ensure open and accountable government by providing impartial reviews and investigations, access to public information, and services for City government and the public.
The position will last 12 weeks at 40 hours per week during June, July, and August. The salary is $22 an hour.
The position is based in City Hall, 1221 SW 4th Ave, Rm 130. The Auditor’s Office is currently operating in a hybrid schedule of in-person and remote work. Interns will also be required to attend a specified amount of offsite community engagement events.
