FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The City Auditor’s Office issued two determination letters finding no violations of campaign finance regulations for Schnitzer Property Management, LLC (Schnitzer), or Rene Gonzalez’s campaign.
Regarding Schnitzer, the Elections Office, housed in the Auditor’s Office, did not find evidence to support received allegations stating that Schnitzer had made prohibited contributions to the Rene for Portland campaign in the form of subsidized rent and parking. The determination letter for Complaint No. 2022-04-SPM is posted on the City Elections Office website.
Regarding Rene for Portland, the Elections Office received allegations stating that Rene for Portland should have disclosed Schnitzer as a dominant contributor on its website and social media platforms. The Elections Office did not find evidence to support these allegations and the determination letter for Complaint No. 2022-05-RG is posted on the City Elections Office website.
More information about the City’s campaign regulations can be found in City Charter Chapter 3, Article 3 and Portland City Code Title 2, Chapter 2.10.
