Madeline Moya, City Archivist

Madeline Moya (she/her) manages the Archives & Records Management Division and has served as the City Archivist since January 2024. She holds a Master of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin with a focus in archives and preservation and is certified through the Academy of Certified Archivists. Madeline previously held the role of Reference Archivist at Archives & Records, where she was responsible for reference services and outreach initiatives. Prior to her time with the City, Madeline was the Media Archivist at the Austin History Center and the Managing Director at the Texas Archive of the Moving Image. She has overseen mass digitization and public access projects in all of her work and is passionate about making archival collections available to the public.

Alex Bisio, Collections Manager

Alex Bisio (she/her) has served as the Collections Manager for the Portland City Archives since 2021. Before returning to her hometown in the greater Portland area, Alex worked as the Lead Processing Archivist for Special Collections and University Archives at the University of Oregon, managing arrangement and description projects. Alex has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Santa Clara University and a Master of Science in Library Science and Master of Arts in History from Simmons College. She received a Digital Archives Specialist Certificate from the Society of American Archivists in 2022. Outside of work, Alex enjoys baking, making art of questionable quality, and playing with her dog.

Brian Brown, Electronic Records System Administrator 

Brian Brown (he/him) is the Electronic Records System Administrator in the Archives & Records Management Division.  He provides guidance, training, and assistance to City employees on records management and records management technology.  Additionally, he administers the City's electronic records management system. Prior to joining the City, he worked at the Secretary of State of Oregon's Archives Division. Brian has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Kansas and a Master of Records and Archives Administration from University College London.

Devin Busby, Outreach Archivist

Devin Busby (she/her) has served as the Outreach Archivist since 2022. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History from San Francisco State University and a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. She moved to Portland in 2007 and began working for the Portland City Archives in 2011. Outside of work, Devin enjoys reading, gardening, and experiencing art around the city.

Julia Cooper, Records Manager

Julia Cooper (she/they) has been the Records Manager since 2023, and works with agencies across the City to educate, advise, and recommend best records management practices. Prior to this role, she worked as a Board Clerk and Records Manager for a special district in the Bay Area for several years before relocating to Portland. She is a member of Oregon Association of Municipal Recorders (OAMR) and the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA). Julia received a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Women's Studies from Wheaton College (MA) and a Master of Library Science from San Jose State University. When outside the office, Julia enjoys trying local restaurants, working in her garden, and playing at local parks with their family.

Ayshea Khan, Reference Archivist

Ayshea Khan (she/her) has served as the Reference Archivist of the Portland City Archives since May 2024. She joined the team after working for the City of Austin as an Equity & Inclusion Program Coordinator with Austin's Equity Office. Prior to her equity work, Ayshea served as the Asian Pacific American Community Archivist with the Austin History Center. She is a Certified Archivist with a Master of Information Studies from University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science in Cinema & Photography from Ithaca College. Passionate about community-driven memory work, Ayshea volunteers with groups such as the South Asian American Digital Archive, After Violence Project, Oregon Queer History Collective, and the Asian Pacific American Library Association. Outside of work, Ayshea is a budding birding enthusiast who enjoys camping and film photography.

Hannah Prince, Records Coordinator

Hannah Prince (she/her) joined Archives & Records Management in 2022 as an Archives Assistant and began working as a Records Coordinator in 2023. She manages tens of thousands of physical and digital City agency records. Her work focuses on records lifecycle management, including the intake of new material and destruction of records that have met their legal retention requirements. She is particularly interested in how proactive records management practices can inform future archives. When she's not in the office, Hannah likes to travel and read but spends most of her free time catering to the whims of her energetic dog.
