Portland’s Office of Arts & Culture has partnered with the Portland Bureau of Transportation Street Plaza Program, Portland Art Museum and City Repair Project to revive a plaza on SW Madison Street in the South Park Blocks in front of the Portland Art Museum and we need your help!

Sign up for a time slot and volunteer at a family-friendly community painting party on Saturday, July 11, 2026. 

Artist Yinka Ilori designed a monumental work of asphalt art to anchor the new Cultural District Plaza on SW Madison Street and SW Park Avenue, and we want neighbors like you to be involved in painting the mural and beautifying the Cultural District!

Join Portlanders in this painting project

No prior painting experience is required. The paint party is family-friendly, although registered painters need to be aged 5 and up. Water, snacks, restrooms, and all paint and painting supplies will be provided.
