Mission: Work collaboratively with our community and public safety partners to ensure effective and timely 911 call answering and dispatching.

  1. Adequately staffed 911 workforce, as evidenced by:
    • Improved employee health, well-being, engagement, and morale.
    • Workforce that promotes belonging, accessibility, equity, and is representative of the community served.
  2. Programs that improve processes and support employee development, as evidenced by:
    • Delivering effective, timely, high-quality service.
    • Efficient and timely trainee certifications.
    • Established career and leadership development, mentorship, and succession planning programs.
    • Develop remote call answering framework.
    • CAD in the Cloud.
    • Participating in, and guiding State NG911 planning.
    • Meeting IAED QA accreditation compliance levels.
    • Expanded QA program.
    • Recurring policy review and updates.
  3. Embody a culture of inclusion, equity, and anti-racism, as evidenced by:
    • Utilizing an equity lens in bureau decision making processes.
    • Employees who embrace inclusion, equity, and anti-racism.
    • A community that trusts in the 911 system to equitably process requests for public safety response.
    • BOEC Racial Equity Plan administration.
  4. Collaboration with community members and partner agencies, as evidenced by:
    • Sustained community involvement and relationship building.
    • Partner agency involvement leading to system improvement.
  5. Secure, efficient, and resilient primary and backup facilities, as evidenced by:
    • Building security 24/7.
    • Long range planning with City Facilities.
